Board certified in labor and employment law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization with 15 years extensive experience advising and representing public and private employers, staffing, outsourcing and other workforce organizations on real time basis about all aspects of employment, labor, employee benefit, workers compensation, employment tax, contracting, corporate compliance and employee benefit matters to further business objectives, manage legal risk and fulfill applicable federal and state legal requirements including:
- Advise clients about human resources and employee benefit obligations and risk-management strategies in connection with corporate mergers, acquisitions, sales, bankruptcies, and other significant business and workforce events including significant experience counseling businesses about reductions in force and workforce reengineering; voluntary and involuntary severance pay arrangements, early retirement windows and other incentive retirement arrangements, settlement agreements, ADEA and other waivers, and other human resources strategies to reduce liability under employment discrimination, whistleblower, workers' compensation, employee benefit and other applicable laws; termination, amendment, vesting, distribution, partial termination, tax-qualification, withholding, and other compliance obligations with regard to employee benefit plans and compensation arrangements arising in connection with business or workforce changes, restructurings, bankruptcies or other significant business events

- Assist employers in the development, implementation and administration of occupational injury and workers compensation, sexual harassment and other employment liability management, safety, Federal Sentencing Guidelines, and other compliance and management strategies and practices
- Counsel clients about liability management and compliance with IRC, ERISA, COBRA, USERRA, SCAR, WARN, ADA and other disability discrimination laws, FMLA, Title VII, Fair Labor Standards Act, whistleblower, privacy, NLRA, Sarbanes-Oxley, Patriot Act, immigration laws, HIPAA and other privacy laws, employment tax reporting and withholding, UBIT and excise tax, unemployment compensation, federal and state securities, banking, insurance, and government contracting, Federal Sentencing Guideline, and other federal and state law requirements
- Advice regarding employee benefit, insurance, securities, tax, health care and other regulatory compliance including advice regarding proposed legislation and regulations, and representation and defense of clients before Department of Labor, Internal Revenue Service, Health and Human Services, state insurance regulators, Department of Justice, and others
- Advise and represent employers, plan fiduciaries, insurers, service providers and others against employee benefit, insurance, employment and other lawsuits and enforcement actions by private plaintiffs and Federal and state governmental agencies
- Advise clients about ex-patriot, outsourcing, immigration, and other multinational human resources, compensation and employee benefit issues
- Advise and represent businesses, associations and governments about health care, employee benefit, social security, migration, education, taxation, and other workforce laws and regulations, including serving as a primary advisor to the Government of Bolivia regarding the restatement of its social security law.
