Special Events Information
Please join us for two
wonderful section leadership dinners. The first will take place on Friday,
November 7th at the Royal Montréal Curling Club. If you wish to participate in
this exciting Olympic sport, please remember to bring clean rubber-soled shoes.
In addition to casual attire, warm jackets and gloves are recommended. The
second dinner will be held on Saturday, November 8th at La Sucrerie de la
Montagne, a maple sugar farm situated atop of Mont-Rigaud. Casual dress is
recommended for this event, and there are a variety of indoor and outdoor
activities planned, so please dress according to the weather.
In
addition to the receptions, yoga classes and fun run/walks are offered on both
Friday and Saturday mornings. The section has also arranged a variety of guest
tours and activities throughout the afternoons. On Friday afternoon, take a tour
of Montréal’s famous McCord and Pointe-a-Calliere museums or hop on a bus for a
grand tour of the city. On Saturday afternoon, choose from three different
activities: a cycling tour of the city, a walking tour of Old Montréal or a
segway tour of the historic district. A full description of these tours and
events is included on the attached Special
Events Form.
A minimum participation for these activities must be
reached so please pre-register if you are interested in any of these events.
Travel Information
Airport
Just 20 minutes from downtown, Montréal’s Pierre-Elliot-Trudeau
International Airport is serviced by over 200 direct flights per day. When you
deplane, there will be a 10-15 minute walk (you’ll be afraid that you’re lost,
but just keep walking) to the customs area. Depending on the crowds (and whether
you rush out ahead of most of the passengers on your plane), you may have a
10-40 minute wait to get through customs.
Visitors entering Canada must present a valid passport. It is strongly
recommended that you carry your passport with you at all times for identity
purposes. Before entering Canada, all visitors are responsible for ensuring that
they have the required documents necessary, whether they are traveling through
to another country or returning to their country of origin. For more
information, visit http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/index.asp

to get to the Sofitel Hotel using the shuttle. The shuttle makes two major
